SUMMARY:Abernethy Highland Games 2026
DESCRIPTION:The Abernethy Highland Games take place on Saturday\, August 8\, 2026 at The Forest Village in Nethy Bridge within the Cairngorms National Park. \nEntrants to the Senior competition will now be added to a waiting list\, but Junior entrants are welcome right up to and including the day of competition. Juniors should come to the Tennis Courts to register from 11 am\, with their competition starting at 11.30. \nFor registration details contact Piping Convenor Peter Grant by email here. \nThe solo piping and chanter events start at 10.30 and will be as follows: \nEVENT 1: CHANTER 12 years and under (March\, any choice). Competing for the Craiglynne Centenary Cup \nJUNIOR LOCAL\n‘Local’ means open to residents of Badenoch & Strathspey who have been in full time residence there (a) for the 6 months immediately prior to the Games\, or (b) previously for more than 10 years. \nEVENT 2: 14 years and under (March)\nEVENT 3: 15 to17 years (March\, any choice). Competing for the Bank of Scotland Trophy\nEVENT 4: March\, Strathspey and Reel\, 17 years and under. Competing for the Morag McGillivray Cup \nSENIOR OPEN\nEVENT 5: Pibroch (choice of three). Competing for the Lord Strathspey Cup \nEVENT 6: March (choice of three).  \nEVENT 7: Strathspey and Reel.  Competing for the Banks Brothers Centenary Trophy\nEVENT 8: Jig. Competing for the Ibbertson Memorial Cup   \nJUNIOR OPEN\nEVENT 9: March (four-part). 17 years and under.\nEVENT 10: Strathspey and Reel. 17 years and under. Competing for the George Centenary Trophy.\nEVENT 11: Jig. 17 years and under. \nThe Gordon Cup: awarded to competitor who accumulates most points in the open piping.\nThe David Grant Blyth Cup: awarded to the most promising competitor aged 17 years or under. \n \nSolo piping entries open for Abernethy Highland Games \n \nResults and report from Abernethy Highland Games 2025 \n \nPiping results from Abernethy Highland Games 2024
