SUMMARY:National Piping Centre St Andrew's Night Charity Ball 2025
DESCRIPTION:St Andrew’s Night Charity Ball 2025\nWe are starting to plan for St Andrew’s Night 2025 – so if you would like to be part of this amazing event next year get Saturday 29th November and email Helen Urquhart hurquhart@thepipingcentre.co.uk or call 0141 353 0220 to get onto the list for more information when it is available! \nNational Piping Centre Charity Ball 2024\n \nTraditional music is a vital part of Scotland’s cultural landscape. The distinguished position that the bagpipe enjoys can be attributed to the instrument’s deep-rooted heritage. Founded in 1996\, the National Piping Centre is at the epicentre of today’s dynamic piping tradition\, a cultural hub and independent charity supporting traditional music in the heart of Glasgow. \nTo celebrate our position at the heart of the tradition\, and raise much-needed funds to continue our work\, The National Piping Centre is hosted its first ever Charity Dinner on St Andrew’s Night\, Saturday 30th November. \n80 guests joined us in the Main Auditorium for a night of fantastic food\, brilliant performances\, a little bit of ceilidh dancing and – most importantly – fundraising. \nWe raised a total of £26\,775 for The National Piping Centre! \nEvent Round Up\nThe St Andrew’s Night Ball began with a magnificent line up of red carpet photos for all our guests\, who were all resplendent in black-tie attire\, before a champagne reception to start proceedings. \nThe firest performance of the night was a quartet of world-class pipers from the 13 time world champions\, Field Marshal Montgomery Pipe Band. This led into a short video from friends of the NPC who couldnt attend on the night\, including Stuart Cassells\, journalist & broadcaster Alastair Campbell\, and Bob Worrall. \nBetween courses the musical performances continued as we welcome young players from our NPC Piping Clubs to the stage\, as well as a performance including her own compositions from Katie Robertson – The Wheeled Piper. These two performances higlighted the best of the work The National Piping Centre does\, showcasing our youth and communities programmes and so much more. \nFollowing dinner\, the Raffle and Auction took place. This included our on the night raffle from a fantastic array of Scottish companies\, our public Grand Raffle and our Auction prize from the William Grant Foundation. You can see the full list of prizes below! The winner of the Piping Live! VIP Experience was Anna Binder from Austria. Thank you to everyone who entered we had well over 400 entries from 10 countries. Your support from across the world helped us reach such a fantastic total. \nThe night was rounded off by a fantastic set from Ross Ainslie & Ali Hutton Trio. They raised the roof with their barnstorming performance and then joined in with the spirit of the evening by calling a few ceilidh dances for the guests to finish off the event in style. \nThanks again to our I Am Proud To Play A Pipe – Headline Event Sponsor the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo\, as well as our Scots Wha Hae event sponsors the Gordon Duncan Memorial Trust and C & C MacRae Ltd for their generous support of this event. \nThe money raised will be put back into all the National Piping Centre’s charitable work and projects across the year.
