DESCRIPTION:Highlighting concerts at Celtic Connections 2025 featuring bagpipes or piping-related music.  \nThe Celtic Connection website says about the concert: Two undisputed forces of the Scottish folk and roots scene have come together to form From the Ground\, releasing a self-titled soundscaping masterpiece with a powerful message at its core. \nMandolin player and singer Laura-Beth Salter (Kinnaris Quintet\, The Shee) and piper\, guitarist\, and whistle player Ali Hutton (Ross Ainslie & Ali Hutton\, Treacherous Orchestra) have recorded nine self-composed tracks highlighting their individual trad musical backgrounds while delving into new territories. \nSamples of whistling winds from Skye\, crashing waves from Harris\, and forest sounds from the outskirts of Glasgow are layered with bold organic instrumentation and poignant lyricism to create a stunning piece of work that’s intricate and epic in equal measure.
