Highlighting concerts at Celtic Connections 2024 featuring bagpipes or piping-related music.
The Celtic Connection website says about the concert: “For over twenty years, Finlay MacDonald has blazed a trail as one of Scotland’s finest contemporary pipers. His diverse CV has seen him work with leading trad artists, including La Banda Europa, Old Blind Dogs and Chris Stout, alongside pop and rock stars like Bryan Adams, Biffly Clyro, and P. Diddy. And as a soloist, he’s collaborated with several renowned ensembles, including the RSNO and the RTE Philharmonic. To celebrate his music and career thus far, he’s assembled a cast of long-time collaborators for this very special festival performance.
“Joining Finlay at the Concert Hall is José Manuel Tejedor, one of the most recognised pipers in Asturias. His works and collaborations cross borders and styles, just as his compositions are covered by the best performers of the folk world. He has been active for more than two decades and has won the most prestigious awards in traditional music, in addition to performing around the world with the Tejedor group.”
