Kingdom Thistle Pipe Band Supplies Solo Piping – Playing Requirements
Competitors age is determined on the day of competition for the piping competitions.
13 years & under (4 Parts quick march in 2/4 time signature on pipes )
16 years & under (Minimum 4 Parts quick march in 2/4 time signature) 1×4 or 1×6 parted March, 2×2 or 3×2 Parted Marches
18 years & under (MSR Minimum 4 parts each tune) (Own Choice)
Open MSR (Own Choice) (4 parts minimum each tune required)
Open Hornpipe & Jig (Own Choice) (1×4 parted Hornpipe &1×4 parted Jig or 1×4 parted Hornpipe & 2×2 parted jigs)
Open Piobaireachd (Own Choice) – A, B & C Grade – 16 Years and Over Permitted to play in this event

Adult Snare
• Open to those Aged 18 years or over on the 1st November and registered with a Band Graded; Grade 4, Grade 3, Grade 2 or Grade 1.
• Each competitor must Submit two March, Strathspey and Reel sets, each tune minimum of four parts.
• In the MSR each tune is to have minimum of four parts, and the set is to be played without stopping in between tunes.
