Teaching Weekend, Smallpipes and Pibroch

This is the third year that the LBPS are sponsoring a weekend teaching event to help promote a greater understanding of this special musical form. Based in Allendale, in the north of England, and hosted by committee member Christopher Bacon, the weekend explores the grounds of selected pibroch with Allan MacDonald, with the aim of unlocking the great beauty in this music. This is a developing programme where pipers working together with smallpipes in a look back to the earliest sources and explore the music outside the usual genre of competition.
