The line up for this year’s Silver Chanter competition has been announced. The competition, now under the Piping Live! umbrella will be the 53rd competition and will take place at the National Piping Centre in MacPhater Street on the evening of Saturday, August 10.

The invited players, and how they qualified, are:

Iain Speirs (2018 winner of the Silver Chanter)
Jamie Forrester (2018 winner of the Dunvegan Medal)
Jack Lee (the 2018 Piping Live! Masters piobaireachd winner)
Stuart Liddell (winner of the Senior Piobaireachd at the 2018 Argyllshire Gathering)
Callum Beaumont (winner of the 2018 Northern Meeting Clasp)
Finlay Johnston (winner of the 2018 Glenfiddich)

As ever, each competitor plays a MacCrimmon composition.

Jim McGillivray, Ontario will adjudicate with Dr Roderick MacLeod, Skye acting as fear an tighe.
