Hamish Moore.

Hamish Moore’s Cáirdeas Nam Piobairean vehicle for “promoting Scottish piping of all types” is to reprise its recent successful concert held at Blair Atholl the night before last month’s Glenfiddich.

The concert will take place as part of the week-long Blàs festival across the highlands and islands and takes place in Inverness Town House on November 29.

The line-up is similar to the Blair Atholl concert but with Angus MacKenzie (of Dàimh) and Angus MacColl replacing Angus Nicolson and Stuart Liddell who were unavailable.

The Perthshire-based piper and pipe-maker said: “This concert is being organised for Blàs by myself as a result of the organisers seeing and hearing about the Blair Atholl concert. Highland Pipes, Border Pipes, Reel Pipes and Scottish Small Pipes are all represented. The line up is, like Blair Atholl, stunning.”

Angus’s MacColl and MacKenzie.

The line-up is: Angus MacColl, Dr Angus MacDonald, Angus MacKenzie, Fin Moore (with Sarah Hoy), Gary West and Brighde Chaimbeul.

Spokesman, Arthur Cormack, said: “Blàs has become an important event in the calendar for communities across the Highlands and Islands since its inception in 2005.

“This year’s programme is no exception and with its outstanding cèilidhs, and concerts will celebrate and promote highland culture to audiences coming from far and wide. We are delighted to be able to put on Blàs Festival this year, once again, to showcase and celebrate our homegrown talent.”
