Dropping hints to your spouse this Christmas? Scratching your head trying to think of presents for the piper in your life?
A wise man – or woman – should heed our advice.
With Christmas upon us, bagpipe.news popped into The Bagpipe Shop in McPhater Street in Glasgow’s city centre to see for ourselves what kind of piping goodies may take our fancy. Shop Manager, Michael McGowan said: “The discerning gift buyer should pencil in next Thursday [12th] for a visit here. We are open later – until 8.30pm – for Christmas shopping but also offering 10% off all purchases*.
“Really, if you’re looking for a gift for the piper in your life, our well stocked shop is the place to visit. Or, if you’re looking to treat yourself to an early present then this Thursday is when you should pop in if you’re in town.
“There’s a free gift from our lucky dip to be had, too. And plenty of mince pies!
“We’ve chosen mid-December to do this,” continues Michael, “because in recent years we’ve noticed that the closer we get to Christmas Eve, we seen a large number of walk-ups coming in clearly stressed out because they’ve left it really late to find a present for the piper in their life.”
So, note the date – December 12 – and head to the top of the Hope Street in the city centre. Once you’ve bought your piping gifts you should head next door for a cheeky wee glass of cheer in the Pipers’ Tryst bar before you head home.
