It is Christmas morning here in Scotland and Bagpipe.news would like to take this opportunity to wish you a Merry Christmas and to thank everyone who has visited the site since it launched in May and made it a success. Since then, thousands have visited the piping web magazine and we are very pleased with our daily ‘audience’ figures.

The spring launch was deliberately low key; we believed our content would more than speak for itself. Our ever-growing number of readers and free articles – daily news but also classic articles cultivated from back issues of Piping Today and from the Piping Times (once described by Capt. John MacLellan as the biggest single repository of bagpipe knowledge in the world).

On the subject of John MacLellan, we will be including articles from his short-lived International Piper magazine on the site in the new year. We are grateful to his son, Colin for allowing us to do this.

Bagpipe.news has rapidly become the ‘go to’ website for the piping and pipe band world and we look forward to bringing you more stories in 2020. The site’s existence is down to the support it receives from our advertisers and from those that shop at The Bagpipe Shop and from The National Piping Centre. We thank them for their continued support.

The ethos of Bagpipe.news is to make it free for everyone. There are no paywalls or subscriptions, so please support our advertisers who make this possible.

We will return tomorrow with more news and articles from the world of piping and pipe bands.
