Boghall & Bathgate Caledonia Pipe Band at last year’s British Pipe Band Championships at Paisley.

There are still a few tickets left for today’s Boghall & Bathgate Pipe Band concert. The concert is part of this year’s Celtic Connections festival.

The band takes to the stage of the Main Auditorium of the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall around lunchtime. It will be the first the band has played on this stage since its 2013 Celtic Connections concert, ‘Forte’.

The show is being record for future transmission by BBC Radio Scotland’s ‘Pipeline’ programme.

MacKenzie Caledonian Pipe Band’s annual junior solo piping and drumming competition has been postponed. The competition was due to take place at Craigie High School in Dundee on February 29.

The date clashes with a Boys’ Brigade band competition in the city the same day, thus affecting competitor numbers.


Meanwhile, in Ireland, the Leinster Solos will take place on February 29. The competition had been postponed due to a general election taking place in Ireland on February 8.

Entry form s are now available for The Graeme Johnston Memorial junior solo competition. The competition takes place on February 22 at its usual venue, The National Piping Centre Otago Street.
