Aboyne Games is running the open Piobaireachd and MSR competitions online for this year. Only professional pipers 18 and over are eligible.

There will be a limit on the numbers of players entering, however. Piping Convenor, Jack Taylor said: “We’ll have to limit the competition to about 30 players. If more enter, selection will be by ballot.

“We will assist pipers to make an audio recording on Games Day – August 1. This will be sent to the me and I will send it on to the judges. The usual prize money will be awarded.”

Each player will be given a time slot in advance.

Full details are HERE. The closing date is June 17.
