For the past few years one of the popular elements to the annual Piping Live! festival has been the Trade Fair. Clearly, due to the coronavirus pandemic it could not be held this year.

However, to coincide with next weekend’s 47th annual Glenfiddich Solo Piping Championships – which is being broadcast online for the first time – the National Piping Centre’s Bagpipe Shop has launched an online Trade Fair.

The Online Trade Fair commences this weekend and runs until midnight next Sunday (November 1). The Bagpipe Shop and many of its independent suppliers are offering discounts, free merchandise and artisan products.

The businesses taking part in the Online Trade Fair include: The National Piping Centre, David Naill & Co., G1 Reeds, Old Barn Pottery, Bagpipe Skin, Begg Bagpipes, McCallum Bagpipes, Ayrshire Bagpipe Company, Frazer Warnock, R. G. Hardie & Co., Burgess Bagpipes, and Wallace Bagpipes.

A spokesman said: “We are incredibly grateful to our suppliers for joining with us to make this a great week. By buying now in these challenging times, purchasers are not only supporting the National Piping Centre but also the host of small businesses who produce the instruments and accessories we all require – plus, of course, bagging a bargain or two for themselves … or maybe a gift in time for Christmas for the piper in their life.”

Buyers can spread the cost of any purchase over £99 with a Paypal credit option.
