The set of smallpipes that Gordon Duncan owned have been sold to a piper in Scotland who wishes to remain anonymous.

The asking price was met and the money raised from the sale last weekend will go to the Gordon Duncan Memorial Trust, the Scottish charity that helds fund and support young traditional musicians.

Expressions of interest were received from pipers around the world, so many that the Trust closed the sale after only a few hours.

A spokesman for the Trust thanked all those who expressed an interest in purchasing the pipes.


Two online solo competitions took place at the weekend. Both were Canadian based. The results were:
