The young pipers who took part in yesterday’s inaugural Lochnell Intermediate Piping Championship

Andrew Ferguson of Dollar, Scotland was the overall winner at yesterday’s inaugural Lochnell Intermediate Piping Championship held at Lochnell Castle, Argyll.

Andrew won the MSR and the Ceol Mòr in this competiton which pipers aged under 22.

The standard of playing heard from all ten pipers was reported to be high.

Results:

Ceòl Mòr – 1. Andrew Fergusson (The Earl of Ross’s March); 2. Ruairidh Brown (Lachlan MacNeill Campbell of Kintarbert’s Fancy); 3. Hamish Drennan (The Battle of the Pass of Crieff); 4. Finlay Cameron (Lament for the Iolaire).

MSR – 1. Andrew Fergusson; 2. Ross Conner; 3. Finlay Cameron; 4. Brodie Watson-Massey.
Judges: Ian Duncan, Archie MacLean and Robert Wallace.

To competition was held as part of the Argyllshire Gathering’s 150th anniversary.
