This year’s Duncan Johnstone Memorial Piping Competition will go ahead in person on Saturday, March 12,

This popular competition is run jointly by the Competing Pipers’ Association (CPA) and the National Piping Centre.

B Grade contests will be held at The National Piping Centre’s campus in McPhater Street while C Grade contests will be held at the Otago Street campus in the west end (the former College of Piping building).

The contest is only open to current CPA members.

You must enter the Jig competitions for your light music grade as a condition of entry. There will be two jig events, P/A/B and C grade.

Playing requirements:

B Grade Piobaireachd – submit four
B Grade MSR – submit four of each type of tune
C Grade Piobaireachd – Submit three
C Grade MSR – submit three of each type of tune

The playing requirements for each Jig event are: submit two, play two – one own choice and one Duncan Johnstone composition.

Entries open on February 11 at 6:00pm (GMT) and close on February 25 at 6:00pm (GMT). The draw will be announced on February 28.

Entry fees are £10:00 per event and are to be paid by Paypal at time of entry, via the CPA website.
