Competition organiser, Kenneth Cameron said: “Our 2020 competition was cancelled right at the start of the covid restrictions, when it all really kicked off, so the competition didn’t run that year. In 2021 we ran an online version which was a very scaled-down event. In late 2021 we just managed to grab a short window of opportunity and ran the Lochaber Gathering.

“With the pandemic on the decline and restrictions being eased, we are delighted to be able to return to hosting our Annual Junior Piping and Drumming Competition again as a “proper” in-person event. There are plenty of classes to enter for pipers and drummers and lots of prizes and awards to be won. Entries from Lochaber residents are particularly important to us, so please get an entry in – and plenty of practice!”

The competition will be held at Lochaber Gaelic Primary School, Ardgour Road, Caol, Fort William, PH33 7JE, starting at 9.30am. Light lunches and snacks will be available.
