Due to a lower than expected entry the Scottish Pipers’ Association Professional Contest on April 30 will only be held at The National Piping Centre’s McPhater Street venue. SPA President, Logan Tannock, said that the event will also welcome spectators for a small admission charge.

Logan explained: “The committee have decided to run all the Piobaireachd competitions, albeit the P/A/Open only has a small field. We are going to remove the B Grade Light music and have only a C Grade and Open Light music competition as we only had a few entries in the P/A/Open and B March and S&R. The common sense approach was to combine them. The winners of the Open will be eligible to play in the Former Winners’ events on the same day.”
