The 27th Annual George Sherriff Memorial Invitational will held on on Saturday, November 18 at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church in Hamilton, Ontario. The competition is organised by the ubiquitous Bob Worrall, who is currently travelling to Scotland to judge at the 50th Glenfiddich Piping Championship this weekend.
The George Sherriff Memorial features some of the finest amateur pipers from throughout Canada and the United States, and this year’s competitors are Gillian Blaney, Cameron Bonar, Thomas Cangelosi, Colin Forrest, Malachi Johannsen, Kayleigh Johnstone, Michael Malish, Henry Paluch, Magnus Stone and Mic Trenor.
The adjudicators for this year’s competition will be Michael Grey, Margaret Houlihan and Willie McCallum. The Master of Ceremonies will be Peter Aumonier.
The church doors will open at 9am and the 6/8 March event will commence at 10am. The Piobaireachd event will commence at 12:30pm after a lunch break. The final March, Strathspey & Reel event will take place at 7:30pm.
The results and presentation of awards will take place immediately following the March, Strathspey & Reel event in the evening.
