By BEN DUNCAN.

The Caritas Banner was held today, November 26, at George Watson’s College, Edinburgh. It was a fantastic day of Piobaireachd with some really encouraging performances across all events. 52 young pipers entered, making for a healthy day of competition. The event was sponsored by the Piobaireachd Society, Kintail Bagpipes and our Watsonian community.

We were delighted with the uptake in this inaugural Piobaireachd competition for pipers 18 & Under and very much hope that the competition will move from strength to strength over the coming years. Piobaireachd forms a huge part of development in pipers and we hope that this event will help to encourage the playing, study and performance of Ceol Mor in young pipers for years to come.

We plan to hold next year’s Caritas Banner on Sunday 24th November 2024, so please save the date!
