NYPBS applications for trainee tutors and emerging composers

The NYPBS are seeking to appoint four trainees to support the delivery of both their Outreach programme, as well as the three National Bands this year. Each trainee will gain real world professional development opportunities throughout NYPBS 2024-25 year of activity.

These are entry-level positions for candidates aged up to, and including, 25 years old, or up to 30 years old if you identify as disabled. All successful applicants will be paid to attend training sessions before commencing work.

The deadline to apply is 12 noon Monday 24th June 2024 GMT.

Now in the fourth year of the programme, Emerging Composers offers the opportunity to write for Scotland’s only concert pipe band. NYPBS are calling for emerging composers aged 18-25  (or up to 30 if you identify as disabled) from both inside and out of the piping community to create new work for the NYPBS.

They particularly welcome applications from people of colour, disabled people, women and the LBGTQ+ community.

Each composer will receive a bursary of £2,000 and support from NYPBS staff and industry topping mentors.

Applications are open from 31st May-8th July 2024. We will write to applicants with the outcome of the selection process by 12th July.

Applications for the positions above can be made online here.
