The Skagit Valley Highland Games took place on July 13 and 14, at the Skagit County Fairgrounds in Washington State with a full programme of solo piping, drumming and pipe band contests. It was a special year for the Games with two inaugural contests taking place; one for the memory of the founder and director of the Celtic Arts Foundation and Skagit Valley Highland Games, Skye Richendrfer, and the other was the Gordon Duncan Memorial Kitchen Piping, co-sponsored by the Gordon Duncan Memorial Trust and the Celtic Arts Foundation.
