The Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association announced yesterday, December 19, that the UK Pipe Band Championships will be held in Edinburgh at Royal Highland Centre Ingliston on July 12, 2025.

The venue change means it is the first time the UK Championships has been held outside of Northern Ireland since its inception in 2014. The creation of the UK Championships seen it replace the Cowal Highland Gathering as a major competition.

Yesterday’s announcement means only the British Championship has still to be confirmed for the major pipe band competitions in 2025. Last year’s British Pipe Band Championship was held in Forres, on June 8, 2024.

The RSPBA Working Group announced on their Facebook page on November 1, the three confirmed 2025 venues and dates at that point were the Scottish on July 26 at Dumbarton; the European on August 9 at Perth; and the Worlds at Glasgow Green on August 15-16.
