The Italian Spring School for the Highland pipes and drums is organised by Italian Piper & Drummer Association and takes place from May, 1 – 4, 2025, at Hotel Alba Serena in Via Alberello, 6 in Misano Adriatico (RN).

Andrew Bova and Wilson Brown from The National Piping Centre will be piping tutors alongside Alberto Massi, and Mauro Pambianchi will teach snare drumming. The Spring School offer courses from beginner to advanced level in collaboration with the National Piping Centre and it is the only opportunity to take the internationally recognised PDBQ exams for the Great Highland Bagpipe up to Tutor level in Italy.
The standard cost for each participant includes overnight stay, breakfast and meals from dinner on Thursday, May 1 to lunch on Sunday, May 4 and lessons with the teachers of the National Piping Centre, Alberto Massi and Mauro Pambianchi. There is additional charges for exams or early arrival on April 30.
The Italian Piper & Drummer Association aims to offer its members, as pipers, drummers or aspiring ones, a series of services, opportunities and facilities starting from meeting moments, to the research and dissemination of news regarding the world of piping, from the creation of a “showcase” of innovative/useful products/technical supports to the offer of opportunities and facilities relating to the purchase of instruments, accessories and more.
