The Scottish Pipers Association Professional Competition takes place on Saturday, April 12, in the National Piping Centre, McPhater Street, Glasgow. The timetable for the day and running order for competitions are below.
Timetable of events
7:45am — Main doors open to the NPC McPhater Street. Registration opens.
8:30am — Auditorium: B Piobaireachd • Collinson Room: Open M and S&R • Robertson Room: C Piobaireachd
Timings for the following events are approximate and are dependent on the finish time of the preceding competition. The SPA reserves the right to make changes to the start times / locations of events 1, 2, 8 and 9 to assist with the smooth running of the event. It is the responsibility of each piper to make sure they are aware when each competition will commence.
12:30pm — Collinson Room: Open Piobaireachd
12:00pm — Robertson Room: C Grade M and S&R
16:00pm — Auditorium: Former Winners
Timers will be used to assist with the smooth running of the competition. Please abide by the times for your event.
Open Piobaireachd and 6/8 March — 6/8 March to be played during tuning time — 5 Minutes
B Grade Piobaireachd — 4 Minutes
C Grade Piobaireachd — 4 Minutes
All light music competitions — Minimal tuning between M and S&R in Open and C Grades — 3 Minutes
We kindly request that all competitors leave the tuning rooms tidy and remove any rubbish/empty water bottles etc. Please use the receptacles in each room for emptying of water traps that are provided by the NPC.
