•The Maket Collective is a new platform for Women in Piping and Drumming. The Collective launched at Piping Live! 2024 with a panel discussion in front of a busy audience who asked searching questions about the panelists individual piping and pipe band experiences.

In August 2024 the National Piping Centre (NPC) launched the Maket Collective to promote and amplify the voice and talent of influential female musicians through their stories and performances, allowing everyone, especially other women and girls in piping and drumming to take inspiration, empowerment to advance their own success.

This was launched in response to the findings of the Women in Piping & Drumming: Equality, lnclusivity, and Diversity Research, which highlighted a lack of visibility and community for women in the piping & drumming world.

To further the reach and enhance the group, the NPC is extending the ambassador group for 2025.

The NPC wants to hear from you! If you know an inspirational woman in the piping and drumming, they want to hear about them. There are so many people working as part of our community and the NPC wants to shine a light on that contribution. So if you know someone who fits these criteria, let them know. Applications are open from now until 5pm on Monday 21st April.
