By Fraser Maitland, Piping Convenor

Despite the yellow weather warning in the North East, the rain stayed away for the Aberdeen Highland Games on Sunday, June 15. Notably, junior competitions saw a higher turnout than senior events, with several competitors and parents attributing this to the introduction of a new Piobaireachd competition for Under 18s.

Apart from a few hiccups, including a missing board for the senior MSR, and stewards balancing pipe band timings with the solo draw, a successful competition was held. A seagull was spotted during the proceedings as shown below, nobody was harmed in this incident. A huge thank you to the judges, stewards, competitors, we look forward to seeing you all next year.
