Another very hot day for pipers at Crieff Highland Gathering began at 0930 with 15 juniors competing on the light music board with entrants from Methill to Massachusetts, and what seemed like everywhere else in-between. The senior light music gathered 17 players who all entertained afterwards with a straight through MSR from 12 noon onwards.

Crieff games also had one piobaireachd board with 15 seniors playing in shade under trees in top corner of Crieff’s Market Park.

Playing conditions for competitors were understandably tricky with such glorious but roasting weather and made even more of a challenge by each board being polar opposite. Piobaireachd in the cool shade and MSR in the stoating sun. Thank you to our sponsors for the solo piping, The Glenturret Distillery, for backing the event and their large gaezbo which offered a bit of solar respite for listeners of the light music. A great day of piping!
