The Police Scotland & Federation Pipe Band announced through their Facebook page yesterday the announcement of two new appointments.

•Leading Drummer Blair Faulds

Duncan Nicholson, who is still a serving police officer, is once again Pipe Major, a role he previously held from November 2010 till November 2015. Blair Faulds will take on the role of Leading Drummer, bringing his talent, dedication, and drive to the drum corps.

Blair said: “I’m absolutely delighted to be appointed as the new leading drummer of the Police Scotland & Federation Pipe Band. This is a new and exciting fresh challenge and the next step in my pipe band career and I feel privileged to be given the opportunity to lead one of the world’s top bands competing at the highest level. I’m especially looking forward to working alongside Duncan and creating music together as we take the band forward.”

Duncan said: “I look forward to taking on the role of Pipe Major again with the band. I’m excited to work alongside Blair, the corps, and all our members as we build on the band’s history and push forward together.
