The RSPBA have announced tickets are available now for the first major championship of 2026 at Royal Highland Centre, Ingliston. The venue hosted the UK Championships in 2025, which took the UK event outside of Northern Ireland for the first time since its inception in 2014.
Now Ingliston will host the British Pipe Band Championships on Saturday May 30, 2026. Tickets for the event are now available to buy, making the tickets, “a perfect festive treat for music lovers” — according to the RSPBA.
The Championships bring together premier pipe and drum bands from across the UK for a full day of world-class performances. With grade categories ranging from Juvenile to Grade 1, the event will showcase musical talent at every level and provides a platform for young and emerging musicians to shine, including school pipe bands, and will include performances and workshops.
Last year, over 5000 competitions and spectators attended, including 60 bands, as the Centre proudly hosted the UK Pipe Band Championships for the first time.
Mark Currie, Director of Venue at the Royal Highland Centre, said: “It’s a real honour to be hosting the championships once again, where the best in piping talent come together to compete for top spots. Visitors can expect a vibrant festival atmosphere complete with competitions, drum-major displays, food stalls, family entertainment, and opportunities to explore Scottish culture up close. Children under five go free, making it a great option for families.”
“The event is another example of the versatility and scale of what our team can accomplish at the Royal Highland Centre and we hope the championships are held here for many years to come.”
Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association Chief Executive, Colin Mulhern, said: “As we begin the countdown to the 2026 British Pipe Band Championships, the excitement is building. We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone to the Royal Highland Centre on Saturday, May 30, 2026.”
“The championships continue to be a major highlight for the piping community, as well as for fans and spectators. The sights, sounds, and atmosphere of ‘the British’ – especially the spectacular finale – are truly unforgettable. Tickets are always in high demand, so now’s the perfect time to secure your place at the 2026 contest.”
Tickets are available now via the Royal Highland Centre website, and early booking is recommended due to high demand. Children’s tickets are £12.50, adults £15 and family tickets £35. Children under five go for free.
