Aberdeen Highland Games takes place on Sunday, June 21, at Hazlehead Park, with a new competition for those 14 Years and Under.

The list of events and tune requirements is:

  • Open Piobaireachd (18 years and over) – 3 Tunes
  • Open March (18 years and over) – 3 Tunes
  • Open Strathspey and Reel (18 years and over) – 3 Tunes
  • Open Jig (18 years and over) 3 Tunes – 1 played
  • Junior Piobaireachd (17 years and under) – Own Choice
  • Junior March (17 years and under) – Own choice
  • Junior Strathspey and Reel (17 years and under) – Own choice
  • Junior Jig (17 years and under) – Own choice
  • Beginner chanter March – 2 parts
  • Junior Piobaireachd (14 years and under) – Own choice
  • Junior Marches (14 years and under) – Own choice
  • Junior Strathspey and Reel (14 years and under) – Own choice

    Enter before midnight on June 14, and receive free entry for all competitions entered. Later entries accepted until 24 hours before the start of the games. Entries on day acceptable but will require to play first, agreement at the discretion of the Piping Convenor.

It is the responsibility of the performer to ensure they arrive in time for the judge as per the draw. Competitors who are more than 5mins late will result in disqualification, with no exception. 

A highlight on the Aberdeen summer calendar, it promises to be a day full of fun for all the family; from traditional Highland Games events, quality trade and charity stalls and a range of activities that can be enjoyed by all ages. Aberdeen’s Highland Games attracts between 8,000 and 15,000 people annually.

Parking

Free car parking is available at Hazlehead Park. Car parking spaces are available on a first come first served basis. Coach parking and motor homes will be available a short walk away from the main car park. Blue Badge holders should make themselves known to the car parking stewards upon arrival and have the blue badge ready to display in your vehicle.
