•Ailis Sutherland and Angus Nicolson were first prize winners in the Piobaireachd/Slow Airs and Piping For Dancing events at the Raasay/Restitution 2025.

A special evening of world-class traditional music comes to the National Piping Centre Auditorium on Monday evening, August 10th, as part of Piping Live! 2026, as the Raasay/Restitution Previous Winner’s Concert showcases some of the finest talent in piping.

The Raasay/Restitution competition—held annually on the Isle of Raasay on the first Saturday of September—aims to restore the deep cultural connection between piping, the rhythms of the Gaelic language, and step dance traditions. These historic links, once central to Highland music, are now being rediscovered and celebrated through this unique initiative.

This exclusive concert brings together past winners of the competition—Angus Nicolson, Ailis Sutherland, Ciar Milne, and Dr Decker Forrest—who will perform selections that exemplify piping in its original cultural context.

Ticket holders are invited to arrive from 7:00pm to enjoy a whisky tasting featuring signature drams from the Isle of Raasay Distillery, ahead of the 7:30pm performance. This is for ticket holders aged 18+.

This event is proudly sponsored by the Isle of Raasay Distillery, whose ongoing support continues to elevate the Raasay/Restitution Competition and its mission.

William Dobbie, Isle of Raasay Distillery, commented: “The Raasay/Restitution Piping Competition is now one of our most anticipated events of the year on the Isle of Raasay. While we look forward to hosting it again in September 2026, we are thrilled to sponsor a special showcase at this year’s Piping Live! in Glasgow, bringing a taste of the competition to a global audience. The concert will feature winners from previous years, inviting attendees to enjoy the incredible music while we pour our lightly peated single malts: The Draam, Dùn Cana and The Chinkapin.”

Join us for an evening that blends heritage, music, and whisky—celebrating the enduring spirit of Gaelic piping in a truly authentic setting—tickets are on sale now!
