The program

 “Thistle and Rose: a Celtic-Balkan Fusion” reimagines a historic encounter between Celtic and Balkan peoples. It includes:

• traditional Highland and Bulgarian folk music and dance
• new Celtic-Balkan fusion tunes, with new contemporary fusion choreography
• Highland piper, gaida player, folk orchestra, Balkan singers, and Highland, Balkan, and modern dancers

Artists are from premier local ensembles: Choro Borealis, Doma Dance Theater, Ethnic Dance Theatre (EDT), Macalester College Pipe Band, Mila Vocal Ensemble, Orkestar Bez Ime (OBI), Traki, and Twin Cities Scottish Dance Association.
