The 2019 Highlands and Islands Young Piper of the Year contest took place yesterday at Sgoil Lionacleit on the Isle of Benbecula, Scotland. The event is organised annually by the Uist and Barra Piping Association. It was a good day for Bobby Allen of Chryston in North Lanarkshire – and for a few members of Boghall & Bathgate Pipe Band who ventured over the Minch.
