Inveraray & District won the Grade 1 title at today’s Scottish Pipe Band Championships held at Levengrove Park in Dumbarton, Scotland. Twelve bands competed.

Weather conditions were atrocious and the RSPBA made the decision at 4.30pm to cancel the March Past. The Pipe Majors and Leading Drummers assembled at the hospitality tent to receive the results.

Inveraray won the previous major championships – the Europeans at Inverness on June 29.

The Scottish is these days seen by some as an indicator for the World Championship a few weeks later.
