William Rowe from New Zealand but living currently in Scotland, was the Champion Piper at Halkirk Games held last weekend (July 27) in the Caithness town, writes out correspondent.

Rowe, who plays a splendid, rare set of drones made by Glasgow pipemaker William MacKinnon, won the March, the Strathspey & Reel and was placed second in the Ceòl Mòr.
