Day 2 of The 2019 Argyllshire Gathering – Oban Games – gets underway this morning at Mossfield Park.

The march of the stewards led by the band comprising yesterday’s competing pipers – with new Gold Medallist, Andrew Hayes in the Pipe Major position and Ben McClamrock, winner of the Silver Medal in the Pipe Sergeant position – leaves the town centre at 10.30am and heads to the park.

At the park, five of the seven piping events this year take place in the adjacent small field behind the grandstand.

Only the Junior MSR (Local) and Intermediate MSR (the R. G. Hardie Trophy) take place on the field.The Intermediate MSR is open only to those who have competed in the MacGregor Memorial contest yesterday. The Angus Nicol Memorial Silver Medal will be awarded to the competitor with the highest aggregate in the MacGregor and the Intermediate MSR.

The Army School of Piping will provide piping stewards.

The judges today are: Chris Armstrong, Malcolm McRae, Water Cowan, Ronnie McShannon, Barry Donaldson, Willie Morrison, Alan Forbes, Stuart Samson MBE, Andrew Frater, Dr Jack Taylor, Michael Grey, Dr Bill Wotherspoon, Bruce Hitchings MBE BEM, John Wilson, Patricia Henderson, Bob Worrall, Bill Livingstone and Murray Henderson.
