The new pipe tune that has been composed to support the work of the Eilidh MacLeod Memorial Trust will debut in Glasgow tomorrow (13th) evening at The National Piping Centre in McPhater Street.

The tune, a 4/4 march named A Tune for the Trust, will be played by the tune’s composer, Fergus Bryce at a fundraising event commencing at 7.00pm.

The event, ‘Tunes for the Trust’ will also feature performances from young musicians. Funds raised will go to the Eilidh MacLeod Memorial Trust, raised after 14-year-old Barra schoolgirl Eilidh MacLeod was killed in the 2017 Manchester Arena terrorist attack.

Tickets are available on Eventbrite and from Fergus directly on 07884 055106.

Alex Dalziel, the Chief Steward for the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association, died on Monday. He was 72.

Alex took ill at the Scottish Schools Pipe Band Championship last Sunday.

As Chief Steward, Alex and his team displayed a light but firm touch at pipe band competitions and championships. Both he and wife, Wilma were made honorary life members of the RSPBA at the 2017 AGM. We extend our condolences to Alex’s family and friends.
