Big entry for the Dunvegan Medal at the Skye Games

The Dunvegan Medal will take place next week on Tuesday, August 2, and Piping Convenor Cameron MacFadyen told bagpipe.news that the competition has attracted a bumper entry of 26 competitors. The competition will take place in the Skye Gathering Hall, Portree, and starts at 8.30am.

The list of Dunvegan Medal competitors are as follows:

The Col. Jock MacDonald Clasp will follow on the evening of August 2 at St Columba’s Church, Portree, from 7.30pm. This competition is confined to current and previous holders of the Dunvegan Medal, and the winner from the Dunvegan medal list above will join the competitors in the CLASP list below.

Both of the competitions above take place on the day before the Isle of Skye Games on August 3, at the Games Field, The Meall, Portree and the 56th Silver Chanter, Annual MacCrimmon Memorial Piobaireachd Competition which will be held at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig, Sleat, Isle of Skye, also on August 3.
