The National Piping Centre (TNPC) is looking to recruit a highly motivated, confident and enthusiastic individual as its Development Manager. The closing date for applications is this Friday, September 16, 2022.

TNPC is looking for someone who can research new opportunities and write with confidence, and someone who enjoys building relationships both with individuals and partner organisations.

•The National Piping Centre at MacPhater Street

You may already have extensive experience in fundraising, or you may have transferrable skills from another sector. TNPC is a fast moving and dynamic organisation delivering a full range of educational courses, Piping Live! – Glasgow International Piping Festival, The National Youth Pipe Band of Scotland and also houses the Pipers’ Tryst hotel and restaurant. We work collaboratively and supportively, ensuring our charity’s mission to promote the study of the music and history of the Highland Bagpipe is at the core of all we do. Although you will take the lead on our fundraising plans, you will find yourself well supported by the rest of the team.

This role will be worked on a flexible basis, with a minimum commitment of 24 hours per week. TNPC is also open to appointing this position on the basis of a job share. This is initially a one year contract.

Based primarily at The National Piping Centre in Glasgow city centre — with scope for part-time remote working — together with the Director of Piping and Director of Administration and with guidance from the Board of Directors, you will prepare grant applications, develop compelling cases for support based upon our existing and planned projects, and identify potential funders. You will help to develop and oversee the fundraising approach for increasing TNPC’s income streams both from individuals and trusts, manage relationships with our current supporters and work closely with Creative Scotland, EventScotland and Glasgow Life.

The National Piping Centre is an Equal Opportunities employer. We will consider a range of part-time and flexible working models, including condensed hours, days working from home, or other structures to accommodate a range of personal circumstances, and to ensure equality of opportunity between those who share a relevant protected characteristic and those who do not.
