Professor Joshua Dickson is the head of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland’s traditional music programme, and talks to Dr Andrew Bova about events for the upcoming academic year at the RCS, including the wide range covered in the BMus Traditional Music: Piping degree. A large part of the discussion is about The Piobaireachd Pit, which is a concept to help students discover and study all aspects of the classical music of the Highland pipes.
The discussion leads to the Pibroch Network website at https://pibroch.net/ which grew out of the Alt Pibroch Club first established by David Hester in 2013. Dr Andrew Bova closes the show with a rendition of the reel, Alick C. MacGregor.
