Assynt are David Shedden on pipes and whistles, Graham Mackenzie on fiddle and Innes White on guitar and mandolin. The trio formed in 2018 and released their debut album, Road to the North (read the review here).

The band won best Up and Coming Artist of the Year at the Scots Trad Music Awards 2018, with David and Graham both being finalists of BBC Radio Scotland Young Musician of the Year, and Innes being a winner of a coveted BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award title.

The band are playing at Celtic Connections tomorrow night, Wednesday, January 25, and are preparing for a tour in Europe starting in Germany on February 22, with dates in Belgium and Austria, and ending in Switzerland on March 18. Find out more about the band on their website here.
