Breabach are playing in the main auditorium of the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, 7.30pm, tonight at Celtic Connections, and are soon to embark on a 17 date tour in America. The US tour starts in Chicago’s Old Town School of Folk Music on February 8, and full details of the tour can be found on their website here.
Over the last 17 years Breabach have become one of the treasures of Scottish Traditional music, and their name deserves a place beside all of the ‘legendary’ Scottish trad music bands who came before them. Calum MacCrimmon is the long-serving piper, multi-instrumentalist and a creative force in the band. His Highland pipes are joined now by Conal McDonagh’s Highland pipes/uilleann pipes/whistles, alongside original band members of Megan Henderson on fiddle/vocals, James Lindsay on double bass and Ewan Robertson guitar/vocals.
More details of the Breabach concert tonight can be found here, and other of Celtic Connections concerts and piping events can be found on our Upcoming Events pages here.
