The Weekend Piping Club at The National Piping Centre is aimed at young learners, aged 6-17, and is a fantastic learning place for new players and those that already play. The new term begins this Saturday, January 13, and that is also the final day for booking the 2024 winter term.

The Club has grown from small beginnings in the autumn of 2022, and was very popular with a large increase in participants across 2023, and 2024 is shaping up to be another very busy year.

Classes are taught in small groups at The National Piping Centre in McPhater Street. The Weekend Piping Club takes place on Saturdays, and there are six levels to accommodate a range of learning stages. Club terms run with the Glasgow schools term dates (e.g. classes will not run over the September Weekend or the October Week). Full information and booking can be done through The National Piping Centre website here.

If you’re unsure about anything, Club Leader Ailis Sutherland is running Q&A drop-ins. These phone or Zoom sessions will be on Thursday and Friday lunchtimes throughout January. Whether you’d like to chat about a new or returning participant, just sign up to arrange a date and time.

Practice chanters and NPC tutor books can be purchased from the Bagpipe Shop in-person at The National piping Centre or online here.
