The Scottish Pipers’ Professional Competition takes place on April 6 at the National Piping Centre, McPhater Street, Cowcaddens. There are spaces in the Former Winners MSR event (if eligible) and the Open Piobaireachd. The C Grade events, B Grade Piobaireachd and Open Light music event are now at capacity and waiting list only. Entry closes on Sunday coming, March 24 at 1pm.

Judges in alphabetical order are: Euan Anderson; Robert Barnes BEM; Alan Forbes; Peter Hunt; Tom Johnstone; Roddy Livingtone; Ronnie McShannon; Jack Taylor; Robert Wallace and Bill Wotherspoon.
There are nine events across three performance areas, including C Grade Piobaireachd and Light Music, B Grade Piobaireachd, Open Light music, Open Piobaireachd and 6/8 March (played during tuning time for the Piobaireachd) and the Former Winners March, Strathspey and Reel competition. Pipers must be a member of the SPA to compete.
However you do not need to be a member to go along and listen. The venue is the NPC McPhater Street, and a full day’s entertainment is only five pounds.
The morning starts with the C Grade Piobaireachd, Open March and Strathspey and Reel and the C Grade March and Strathspey and Reel.
The Former Winners will follow on from the C Piobaireachd. The Open Piobaireachd will follow the Open Light Music and the B Piobaireachd will follow the C light music.
