This year’s Masters Competition will take place at The National Piping Centre, McPhater Street, Glasgow on August 12. For 2024, Piping Live! is delighted to announce that this event will be sponsored by R.G Hardie & Co. Bagpipes, becoming known as the R.G. Hardie & Co. Masters Solo Piping Competition for the next three years.

Wilson Brown is once again the convenor of the event, which is open to all pipers who have won the Gold Medal or are eligible to play in the Former Winners MSR competitions at the Northern Meeting and Argyllshire Gathering.

Wilson told Bagpipe News: “It is great to once again be taking on the organising of this prestigious competition, and we are delighted to welcome R.G. Hardie & Co. Bagpipes as the title sponsor. I have now sent out entry forms to all eligible pipers, however if any piper has not received an email I would ask that they contact me at The National Piping Centre (wbrown@thepipingcentre.co.uk) and I will ensure an entry form is sent out.”

Alastair Dunn, Director of R.G. Hardie & Co. Bagpipes said: “As part of our passion for crafting the world’s finest bagpipes, we are delighted to be the main sponsor of the 2024 Masters Solo Piping Competition. We have supported the Masters livestream for many years, and we are pleased to extend this further for the next 3 years. We are very much looking forward to this year’s competition featuring the world’s top pipers.”

Entries are open until Thursday, June 27, with more about the main Piping Live! programme, which takes place from 10 – 18 August, being revealed soon.
