Angus MacColl was the winner of the Pipe Major Alasdair Gillies Memorial Recital for 2024, and earlier in the evening, 20-year-old Bobby Allen from Scotland won the final of Pipe Idol receiving a set of Fred Morrison Reel pipes as his prize.

Bobby has been entering Pipe Idol since the age of 13, and has finally achieved it in what would have been his final attempt as he would be over-age in 2025. Bobby won Heat 4 of Pipe Idol early on Thusday afternoon.

The Street Cafe was packed-out on for Finlay MacDonald and friends concert which marked the release of Finlay’s long-awaited tune book, The Crofthead Collection.
