Edinburgh Council, for the first time ever, is set to include piping and drumming amongst their team of instrumental instructors in schools.
The positions were previously publicised on bagpipe.news, but the application process presented barriers to applicants that may have put off tutors from applying. There was a requirement for registration with the General Teaching Council of Scotland, which was an error and should not have been in the form. This has now been removed and there is still time to apply for the posts which are still live on MyJob Scotland. The deadline is December 24, 2024.
It’s important that tutors with drive, capability and passion are appointed to take this opportunity forward, who will make a success of teaching and developing a band, and prove that there is demand to learn in the capital city’s state schools!
