This weekend of February, 21-23, 2025 sees more than 10 solo piping and pipe band events take place across the world.

The weekend gets started today, Friday 21, with the Jimmy McIntosh MBE Piobaireachd Workshop at the Carnegie Mellon campus in Pittsburgh, PA. The weekend long event is organised by The Pittsburgh Piping Society.

In Scotland there are four events across the weekend with John Mulhearn in concert in Skye on Saturday evening, February 22, and three competitions to choose from: the National Piping Centre Junior Piping Competition; Archie Kenneth Quaich on Saturday 22; and Glasgow Highland Club Schools’ Competition for school pipe bands on Sunday 23.
If you are in Co. Wexford, Ireland you have the chance to attend The Ardmore Cup which begins tonight, Friday 21, in the Round Tower Hotel in Ardmore with The Irish European Knockout Competition. Tomorrow morning sees solo events for children and amateurs, and then the main event with professional solo competition beginning at 1pm in the Ardmore Hall.
This weekend is just a continuation of the pipe band season in New Zealand and sees four pipe band competitions take place at: Canterbury Centre Pipe Band Contest; Wellington-Hawkes Bay Centre Contest; CNI Centre Pipe Band Contest; and the Auckland Centre Pipe Band Contest.
