For the first time ever in the Duncan Johnstone Memorial Piping Competition there was a father and son, Iain Simpson and Jonathon Simpson, winning trophies in the piobaireachd events today, Saturday March 22, at the National Piping Centre in Glasgow.
The competitions were open to B and C Grade members of the Competing Pipers’ Association and attracted a large entry. The National Piping Centre would like to thank all the volunteers for making the day run smoothly, including all volunteers from the Army School of Piping and Drumming.
